National Mathematics Day Webinar
A webinar titled 'Mathematics for Information Security' was jointly organized by the Department of Mathematics, Bishop Moore College, Mavelikkara, and the Department of Mathematics, NSS College, Pandalam, on 20/12/2024, as part of the National Mathematics Day Celebrations, 2024. Mr. Vijayagovindan C, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, NSS College, Ottapalam was the Resource Person.
Fostering Creativity: Fabric Painting Workshop
National Service Scheme, Unit No: 42A and 42B, NSS College Pandalam organized a fabric painting workshop on 20 January 2025 as part of the Skill Enhancement Programme. The workshop was led by Mrs. Rekha Anilkumar (Fevicryl Certified Specialist) and Mrs.Sobha Anil (Fevicryl Certified Professional).
The session featured creative activities, including potato stamping and stencil art, where participants designed and painted their own cloth pouches. The workshop was coordinated by Program officer Dr.Jyothy C R.
National Service Scheme units of N.S.S. College, Pandalam bagged Best Volunteer Award
National Service Scheme Volunteers of Units 42 A & 42 B of NSS College Pandalam, Sooraj S., IV Semester B.Com. (Tax) and Malavika Udayan, IV Semester B.Sc. Biochemistry received the award as the best NSS volunteers from the University of Kerala on 16 January 2025 from the Honourable Minister for Higher Education R Bindu.
Punyam Poongavanam - Thaneer Panthal: An Outreach Initiative by Nss Units 42 A & 42 B, Nss College, Pandalam.
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 42A and 42B of NSS College, Pandalam, organized a 'Thanneerpanthal' (refreshment stall) for pilgrims of Valiyakoyikkal temple on January 12, 2025. This was initiated as an outreach activity for promoting institutional distinctiveness. Volunteers distributed juice and biscuits to devotees participating in the Thiruvabharana procession, under the leadership of Volunteer Secretaries Nasra Rajeeb and Sooraj Rajendran.
Punyam Poongavanam - Paper Bag Distribution : An Outreach Initiative by Nss Units 42 A & 42 B, Nss College, Pandalam.
National Service Scheme Units 42 A & B, NSS College, Pandalam organised a paper bag distribution event at Pandalam Valiyakoykkal Temple on 8th January 2025. The initiative was part of the Punyam Poonkavanam project,an outreach initiative to promote institutional distinctiveness and aimed at promoting eco-friendly practices among Sabarimala pilgrims and local shopkeepers. The event was successfully led by Program Officers Dr. Jyothy C.R and Dr. Krishnakumar A and the Volunteer Secretaries Sooraj Rajendran and Nazra Najeeb.
Human Trafficking Awareness Program by National Service Scheme Units, NSS College, Pandalam
The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 42A and 42B, NSS College, Pandalam, in association with the Debate Club of NSS College, Pandalam, organized an awareness session on human trafficking and organ donation on January 8, 2025, to commemorate Human Trafficking Awareness Day. The session was led by former NSS volunteer Azad R. Surendran, and was successfully coordinated by Program Officers Dr.Jyothy C.R. and Dr.Krishnakumar A.
NSS Volunteers Initiate Cleaning Drive at Pandalam Municipality
Volunteers of National Service Scheme Units 42A and 42B of NSS College Pandalam initiated the Cleaning Drive in co-ordination with Pandalam Municipality on January 7, 2025. Volunteers collected plastic waste from the market and disposed it following the guidelines. Through their enthusiastic and dedicated efforts, volunteers actively engaged with the local community, building rapport while undertaking cleaning activities.
Awareness Programme on Young Innovators Programme (YIP) 7.0
In collaboration with The Kerala Development and Innovation Strategy Council, (K-DISC), Govt. of Kerala, the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) and the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of N.S.S. College, Pandalam organized an Awareness Programme on Young Innovators Programme (YIP) 7.0 on 7th January 2025. YIP 7.0 aims to encourage students to propose innovative solutions to real-world problems, aligning with one of 30 thematic areas.
The session was led by Abinson Suresh, who provided valuable insights into the program's objectives and participation guidelines. The event began with a welcome address by Dr. Mahesh S. K., Convener of IIC, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Sri. Reghunath V., Head of the Department of Political Science.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation, with over 80 students in attendance, highlighting their interest in fostering innovation and addressing societal challenges.
