The Department of Mathematics, established in 1952, is one of the oldest departments of the college. The department offers degree programme with Mathematics as core subject, Statistics and Physics as complementary subjects and also provides Operations Research as open course and Graph Theory as elective course. The allowed strength of the degree program is 48. The department achieves academic excellence with more than 95% result every year. In 1997, the department secured first rank in Kerala University with the score of 999 marks out of 1000. The department secured second rank in 2015 and third rank in 2017 in the University examination.

The eminent scholar and traditional artist Prof. Kadamminitta Vasudevan Pillai was the member of the faculty for about two decades.
