Research and Extension forum is a common platform for teachers to co-ordinate research and extension programmes in the college. The forum aims at the promotion of inter disciplinary research as well as socially useful, productive activities in the college. Co-ordinator: Dr. Rakhi R. (Physics)

Major Functions

• Research promotion
  Sustaining, monitoring and promoting excellent levels of research by the college enhance the potential for excellence. The functioning of the Research and Consultancy Cell in the college excellently supports the development of quality research in the institution. The Cell offers a range of programs to help PG students conduct high-quality research, and it keeps track of dissertation work at different stages of completion.
• Synopsis evaluation
  It is mandatory for the final PG students to present their PG dissertation synopsis before an expert committee appointed by the Principal for evaluation, criticism and suggestions for improvement. The synopsis must be revised by the students in accordance with the expert panel's recommendations.
• Progress report
  The PG students have to submit their monthly progress report regarding their dissertation to the Head of the Departments (HoDs) and the HoDs will have to submit a statement to the Principal. This will ensure complete transparency and accountability in dissertation work.
• Pre-submission presentation
  After the completion of the work, the students will have to present their work before the members of the concerned department and the department will select two presentations on merit basis for final college level presentation jointly organized by the PG Monitoring Cell and the Research Committee of the college. The presentations will be evaluated by panel experts (both internal and external) appointed by the Principal in consultation with the Research Committee. These presentations are mandatory for the submission of dissertation to the University.

Awards

The Best two presentations selected by the panel will get Principal's certificate and a cash award.

• PG General seminar
  As part of the college curriculum, first-year postgraduate students have to to present a general seminar. The seminar is organized jointly by the PG Monitoring Cell and the Research Committee. The presentations will be evaluated by the panel of experts nominated by the Principal in consultation with the PG Monitoring Cell and the Research Committee. The Best presentation in Science and Arts, language and Commerce will get awards from the Principal.
