NSS College Pandalam offers its best social service in the community through the ‘Hridayapoorvam Programme’, through which students engage in various socially committed activities. Collection and distribution of Lunch packets by students among needy people in institutions like old age homes, hospitals etc. is one of the major activities under this scheme.

Objectives:

1. Provide a helping hand for the marginalised sections in our community.
2. Evolve a sense of social responsibility among students of our college.
3. Provide a real-life experience throughthe participation of students in these activities.
4. Cultivate social consciousness and social values among the students.
5. Inculcate a humane attitude of sharing with the needy 

Evidence of Success
The repeated requests from the institutions which could be a part of the Hridayapoorvam programme in the previous years were proof that these acts of kindness could instil among the receivers a bond of unfailing trust and faith.

Challenges Faced

1. Interferences in the reliability of the food materials given by the students
2. Restrictions from the health departments due to the pandemic
3. Colliding patterns of academic schedule and the distribution timings of food packets at noon to institutions

Future Plans

• Decision was made to diversify the objectives of the programme 
• Distribution of Study materials and Clothes for orphans, and provision of amenities required in rehabilitation homes like wheelchairs, water beds, and adult diapers were also kept in consideration for the forthcoming year's Hridayapoorvam ventures
